Shannon Coker Named New Director of Communications and Government Affairs
Shannon Coker has been named the new Director of Communications and Government Affairs for MFC, effective June 1, 2023.
In this role, Coker is responsible for managing and directing MFC’s internal and external communications, media relations, agency publications, and MFC’s digital and social media presence, in addition to MFC’s public information and outreach programs. She will also handle state and federal policy and serve as the legislative liaison.
Coker has over 22 years of experience in communication and holds an accreditation in public relations (APR). Before working at MFC, she was the Executive Director for the Mississippi Dental Association, where she served as the executive officer and handled the organization’s internal and external communications. Previously, she was the Executive Director of the Home Builders Association of Mississippi.

Originally from Raymond, Coker holds a Master of Science in Communication from Mississippi College and a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations. She and her husband, Gerald (JJ), reside in Brandon.
