Below is a list of Arbor Day Celebrations, as well as tree sales and giveaways. The Mississippi Forestry Commission encourages all citizens to celebrate Mississippi Arbor Day by planting a new tree, ensuring the health of our community forests for future generations.

| Adams County | Adams County SWCD Auxiliary’s Ornamental and Wildlife Seedlings Sale Friday, February 21, 2025 7:00 am to 12:00 pm The Garage at the USDA Service Center 110 Northgate Road, Natchez Contact: Adams County SWCD 601-493-2869 Pear, Peach, & Plum fruit trees and Blackberries, Blueberries, and Muscadine will be available. Hardy Pecan, Red Oak and Red Cedar, White and Red Crape Myrtle, and Southern Magnolia will also be available. They are “bare-root” seedlings from 1 1/2 to 5 feet tall. First come, first served. **Cash/Check only Pine trees, in bundles of 50, will also be given out on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Proceeds will be used to support school programs for Conservation Youth Camp, Teacher Conservation Workshop, Poster Contest, and other conservation educational programs. |

Trees MS Open House: Planning & Planting a Resilient Natchez Saturday, February 8, 2025 9:00 am until 12:00 pm Downtown Depot Visitor Center 200 N. Broadway Street Natchez, MS 39120 Residents are invited to provide feedback on where trees should be planted in the community and to sign up to participate in forthcoming tree-planting projects. The public can view community tree maps and help prioritize strategies for healthy trees. Natchez residents who provide feedback will have a chance to win one of 20 trees in a raffle drawing. | Lafayette County | Lafayette County Soil & Water Conservation District and Nail Forestry Service Tree Giveaway February 7, 2025 8 am Lafayette County Multipurpose Arena F. D. “Buddy” East Parkway A limited number of fruit trees and hardwood and pine seedlings will be given away on a first-come basis. The fruit trees include Santa Rosa Plum, Honey Crisp Apple, Bell of Georgia Peach, and Bartlett Pear. Vines include Muscadine. Hardwood seedlings include Bald Cypress, Hardy Pecan, Red Maple, Sugar Maple, White Oak, Nutall Oak, White Flowering Dogwood, and Persimmon. Ornamental Trees include southern magnolia and Red Crape myrtle. The fruit trees and vines are limited to one per variety; hardwood seedlings are limited to three varieties for a total of 15 seedlings total, and pine seedlings are limited to two bundles of 20 seedlings. |
